Hybrid Model

Verity Schoolhouse partners with homeschool families using a hybrid model. Our drop-off schoolhouse programs blend on-site classroom support for 1, 2, or 3 days per week. We currently offer programs for Kindergarten (age 5) through 8th Grade.

We are gauging interest for a Pre-K program (age 4+) for the 2025-2026 school year. This program would run simultaneously with our older students, and would help ease students and families into a homeschool rhythm and routine, as well as prepare young students academically, socially, and emotionally for our Kindergarten program. Please reach out to us with interest or questions!

We offer an Academic Core Program with core subjects: Math, History/Geography, complete Language Arts, and Bible. The Academic Core Program meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. twice a week for 30 weeks during the school year, totaling 60 days.

We also offer our unique Fantastic Friday Program with a variety of non-core and hands-on subjects such as art, handicrafts, nature & science. The Fantastic Friday Program meets on Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for eight 3-week sessions throughout the school year, totaling 24 days. You can view these session dates under the calendar section of this website.

Families may choose to enroll in the Academic Core Program, the Fantastic Friday Program, or both.

This hybrid model gives children the structure of a classroom community with the flexibility of time at home, keeping the parents as the primary influencer.

Education Approach

Verity Schoolhouse facilitates a simplified yet thorough learning approach. Verity Schoolhouse uses a multi-age, competency-based approach to instruction. All students will be tested for placement into math, and younger students will be tested for placement into language arts. All other subjects are taught in a multi-age format with individualized assignments given at the student’s academic level. Assignments are suggested for at-home learning in math, language arts, and history.

Education Philosophy

Our curriculum is not based on one specific educational method, though we are strongly influenced by both Classical education as well as Charlotte Mason’s pedagogy and methodology. At Verity Schoolhouse, we believe firmly in the value of a flexible, yet comprehensive education emphasizing the highest of moral values, the innate need for children to play and be in nature, and the family’s central role in learning.
